Concrete Repair, Resurfacing & Sealing in Wilmington, NC
Cracked, stained or faded concrete brought back to life — or replaced when repair is not worth your money.
Not every tired slab needs to be torn out. Surface scaling, hairline cracks, oil stains and faded stamped concrete can often be fixed with crack routing and filling, a polymer-modified overlay or a deep clean and reseal — at a fraction of the cost of replacement.
When a slab has sunk, heaved from tree roots, or has wide structural cracks, a cosmetic fix will not last. We tell you which one you have, and if replacement is the smarter call, we quote that too.
What you get
Crack repair
Routed and filled with flexible, UV-stable sealants that move with the slab.
Resurfacing overlays
Thin polymer overlays — smooth, broom, or stamped texture — over sound concrete.
Clean & reseal
Pressure cleaning, stain treatment and new sealer for stamped and colored concrete.
Section replacement
Cut out and re-pour failed panels so they match the surrounding slab.
Not the cheapest bid. The one you won’t have to redo.
A cheap slab costs less on day one and more every year after — cracks, sinking, fading color. Here is what every MJ project includes that a low bid usually skips.
| Typical low bid | The MJ standard | |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Poured on whatever dirt is there | Excavated, graveled and compacted in lifts |
| Thickness | 3–3.5" to save material | 4" patios, 5–6" with rebar for heavy vehicles |
| Reinforcement | None, or fiber only | Wire mesh or rebar + fiber, sized to the load |
| Concrete mix | Cheapest available | 3,500–4,000 PSI, air-entrained for the coast |
| Control joints | Too few, or cut too late | Planned into the layout and cut the same day |
| Sealer | Optional or watered down | UV-stable sealer with anti-slip grit included |
| Supervision | Crew without the owner | Juan on every pour |
| Quote | One number, extras later | Line-item and in writing, no surprises |

Common questions: Concrete Repair, Resurfacing & Sealing
Should I repair or replace my cracked driveway?
If the slab is level and the cracks are narrower than about 1/4 inch, repair or resurfacing usually makes sense. If panels have sunk, lifted or are breaking into pieces, replacement is the better long-term value.
How long does concrete resurfacing last?
A properly bonded overlay on sound concrete typically lasts 10–15 years in the Wilmington climate when it is resealed every few years.
